It’s April, yet it acts like winter.
The weather teases us with bright, sunny days and then surprises us with sudden snow storms and freezing temperatures.
I’m wanting warmth and daffodils, but am experiencing cold and snow.
Sometimes life is just like that.
We expect one thing and get another.
Leaving my home recently with clear, sunny skies above, I was caught off-guard with a sudden snowstorm.
I was annoyed with the delay in my travels, and the disruption of my plans.
Upon passing an elementary school, I had a change of heart.
The playground was filled with children laughing, running, and having a great time!
It was below freezing, but these kids were bundled up and didn’t seem to mind.
They were having fun!
They weren’t focused on what they might have wanted the day to be like.
Instead, they took what was given them, and enjoyed it!
It was Spring and I was grumbling because the weather was not what I thought it should be, nor what I wanted.
These joyful children taught me that day to not only take what the day offers, but to make the best of it.
And even more so, they taught me to not just accept, but to thrive!
Rather than bemoan that which is not wanted or expected, I invite you to take your day and like these children, choose to thrive!
Much love,
