“Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.”
These words of Napolean Hill came to mind recently when I was thinking about the many trials we are facing, whether personal, familial, or societal.
Inherent in any trial or disaster is the seed of equal or greater goodness.
It is easy to succumb to depression and despair, upset or anger when we are in the midst of hardship.
Yet know that, if you have eyes to see, every turmoil has within it equal or greater blessings.
Thus you can move forward not just to survive, but to thrive.
In the midst of swirling trials you can move forward in a sphere of peace and calm.
The key is to look for the blessings. Look for the good that walks hand in hand with the adversity. The good is inherently there, but without looking for it, we can easily miss it.
Elder David A. Bednar who said,
“We should not underestimate or overlook the power of the Lord’s tender mercies. The simpleness, the sweetness, and the constancy of the tender mercies of the Lord will do much to fortify and protect us in the troubled times in which we do now and will yet live. When words cannot provide the solace we need or express the joy we feel, when it is simply futile to attempt to explain that which is unexplainable, when logic and reason cannot yield adequate understanding about the injustices and inequities of life, when mortal experience and evaluation are insufficient to produce a desired outcome, and when it seems that perhaps we are so totally alone, truly we are blessed by the tender mercies of the Lord and made mighty even unto the power of deliverance (see 1 Ne. 1:20).”
Receive the strength provided by a loving Heavenly Father as you look for and recognize seeds of equal or greater good in the trials you are facing today.
Sending you love and encouragement.
