I have a treasure box.
Does hearing those words, conjure up ideas of gemstones and sparking jewelry spilling over the sides of a pirate treasure chest?
Though I do like that image, this treasure box contains things of far greater value!
It holds the things that help me set the foundation for having a purposeful, and rewarding day, and thereby life.
This special box holds books that inspire and guide me.
May I share with you some of what’s in my treasure box?
-My Bible and other inspirational words I’m studying
-A notebook to record insights
-A book on the Constitution and the Founding Fathers
-My phone to play the hymn I am memorizing
-My planner that keeps me organized and reminds me of what I’m working on
I have found that reading and writing a little each day determine how well my days flow.
James Clear said,
“Most big, deeply satisfying accomplishments in life take at least five years to achieve. This can include building a business, cultivating a loving relationship, writing a book, getting in the best shape of your life, raising a family, and more.
Five years is a long time. It is much slower than most of us would like. If you accept the reality of slow progress, you have every reason to take action today. If you resist the reality of slow progress, five years from now you’ll simply be five years older and still looking for a shortcut.”
Setting up a plan and putting it into practice, maybe even creating your own treasure box like mine, is an effective way of making real change in your life.
My study time has become something I look forward to each day. In fact, it has become a treasured time of learning and personal growth.
I invite you to create your own treasure/study box. Make it unique to you. Fill it with what lifts and motivates you and then…
enjoy the richness of a full and inspired life!
Much love,
