We celebrated Mother’s Day yesterday.
Leading up to Mother’s Day I was a little sad.
My mother has been gone for two years now, and I miss her.
My mother-in-law has been gone for over ten.
The day arrived, and I was blessed with visits from children, good conversation and laughter.
My feelings began to change.
Instead of feeling sad for what wasn’t available to me, I focused on what was.
The loving relationships that are here now.
It was then easy to remember with love the positive influence that my mother and mother-in-law, and many women, including my daughters, have had on my life.
I thought of the:
- Acts of kindness
- Examples of moral living
- Never-ending encouragement
- Sacrifices made
- Comfort given
- Wise teachings
- Forgiving hearts
- Soon my heart was filled with joy!
I have much to be thankful for!
Happy Mother’s Day!
Love,
