Will you try an experiment with me? Just for today.
It is, living as-if.
Think of all the things you might wish were different. You might wish you
- had more energy
- experienced more vibrant health
- had more money
- were more confident
- were more responsible
- didn’t procrastinate
- were at your ideal weight
- felt happy
- enjoyed more supportive relationships with your spouse, children, friends
Fill in the blank for what you wish were different.
Now, act as-if…. As if that desire were already true.
For example, you would ask
How would an energetic person
- think?
- act?
- feel?
And then think, act and feel that way now!
How would a person with confidence think? How would she act? How would she feel?
How would a happy person think? How would she act? How would she feel?
Do you see how it works?
As we begin to think differently, act differently and feel differently we become different. We acquire those thoughts, those actions, those feelings.
In other words, we become that person.
Don’t wait for the never-arriving someday. Instead, create that day today by living as-if.
Are you willing to try the experiment? For just today? You have nothing to lose and so much to gain!
