We had some crazy Spring weather this year and though it is now Summer, this message still has meaning.
It’s not uncommon that where I live in Idaho, we can experience sun, clouds, rain, wind, lightning, hail, even a tornado watch and then back to sunshine, all in the same day! Except for the possibility of losing our crops it could be exciting.
From one moment to the next, I can look out the window and see a completely different sky.
This unstable weather happens not only literally but also figuratively.
How similar to life! We never know from one day to the next or even moment to moment, what is going to follow. But the uncertainty of life need not disrupt our sense of well-being.
If we base our happiness on what is happening outside us, then peace is illusory.
But what if I tell you that it is possible to find peace in the storm?
When we are feeling burdened, overwhelmed, heavy or discouraged it’s easy to think life is going to be that way forever.
I’ve come to realize those moments pass, both the good and the bad, the happy and the sad.
Just as crazy spring weather that changes from sun to clouds, to rain, to hail and so on, so does life change from one moment to the next.
But there is a sure-fire way to help you in getting through the literal, physical days of dark stormy weather and also the figurative dark, stormy days of life.
Remember the times of sunshine.
Remember the goodness and kindness of others.
Remember that you can change your thoughts.
Remember that you are not alone.
Remember that this moment will not last forever.
Remember to pray.
And in the remembering, be grateful.
Remembering brings about gratitude and gratitude brings about peace and comfort.
The craziness of life need never overwhelm you. There is always light and hope!
With love,
