I saw a post the other day that rubbed me the wrong way! The first sentence, written with exclamation marks said, “When I was this size (a number was written here), I hated myself! I hated my life!”
Reading those words took me aback! I am currently that size, where she hated her life!
I thought to myself. “I love my life! I love my size! I strive to be healthy but I love my body, now!” Hate is an awfully strong word to use and carries a strong negative vibration.
I know her intent was to share her inspiration of how she got her life on track, lost weight and got her life in order. Body size can be an indicator of that progress, but there is so much more to becoming healthy and whole than being a certain size or weight!
To be honest I did not read much more of her post. I can appreciate the words I did read because it got me thinking of how I really do feel about my weight, my body, my health.
For me, using fear as an incentive does not work. Hating one’s body, one’s situation, one’s job, etc. puts a person in an extremely low energetic vibration and into a mental and emotional downward spin.
A fear based incentive goes against everything I teach and share with others!
Whether we’re talking about weight loss, health, work, a relationship, another person, a situation, etc, focusing on what’s not working will only inspire fear and does not bring lasting change for the good.
What I have experienced and helped others to recognize is that looking for what is going right in the moment and loving where we are, who we are, leads us to a higher vibration and a way out of the negativity trap. As our thoughts are more supportive, our vibration raises. We are happier and we begin to make better, more inspired decisions. And as we continue this pattern, we spiral up!
Isn’t that the direction we want to go?
Start where you are and choose to be happy, today. Love who you are, where you are right now. Love your body. Being happy in this moment will bring increased happiness in the future.
Learning how to love and accept yourself, right now, is the best step to take in creating positive, lasting life change!
