With the upcoming Holiday Season fast approaching our thoughts too often turn to overwhelm. I’d like to offer some simple and supportive helps in that area so you can glide through the next few weeks enjoying your loved ones.
One word of caution…. Don’t let these suggestions be another cause of stress. Pick and choose and start small. Even a simple change that you apply consistently can reap great results!
Simple suggestions to start your day:
Drink a glass of lemon water. This helps you wake up faster, aids your digestion, freshens your breath, while also feeding your body vitamins it needs. Plus it’s a great way to get your daily water intake started.
Let the light in. Open the blinds. Stand in the sun and feel its rays. Alarm clocks can jolt us awake so when possible, let the natural rising of the sun wake you gently and naturally.
Stand in a superhero pose. It’s actually been shown that standing for 2 minutes in a power pose, increases your confidence and productivity. Put a cape on if you want to. J
Meditate/Deep Breathe. Both of these habits lessen stress and increase creativity as well as sharpening focus and increasing memory.
Stretch/Yoga. These type of exercises increase lung capacity, help with memory and lower risk of heart disease. Oh yes, and relieve anxiety.
Have a mint. Mint increases mental alertness. It’s a natural stimulant that helps with memory loss and energy. It can also help settle the stomach.
Listen to music. Since we’re talking about morning, you’d most likely want music that will wake and get you going but it doesn’t have to be loud and fast. In fact, it’s been shown that listening to music that gradually increases in tempo is more effective in raising one’s energy.
Serve another. Text a kind message or leave a note for a loved one to discover. Doing something for someone else produces the “feel good” chemicals in our body. We love that!
Read something uplifting: Take a moment and read from an inspirational book, maybe poetry or scripture. The written word carries vibration and definitely influences how we feel.
Create your day. Take a moment and decide the day you want to have. Joyful and fun? Peaceful and fulfilling? Productive? Healing? Declare it so your actions will be aligned and the day will happen as you desire.
Remember to keep it simple and supportive.
Here’s to a peaceful, happy you!
