Some time ago my family and I had the exciting opportunity to attend a Lindsey Stirling concert.
Lindsey Stirling is a choreographer, dancer, and violinist well-known for her artistry and high-intensity performances.
Between two of her numbers she spoke of the time her self-worth was so connected to the critics and what others thought of her that when they told her she was not good enough, she was devastated!
It was difficult for her to recover from that painful experience, but recover she did!
She went on to world-wide fame and stardom.
Though she performs in front of a world-wide audience, her experience of not feeling good enough is common.
Can you relate?
THE CHOICE
But before the success Lindsey had to make a choice.
The same choice that you and I must make at some time in our lives.
To decide if we are going to allow others to define and tell us who we are
OR
for us to claim our gifts and stand in our light.
Lindsey shared that she knew she had more to give, much more, and that she wanted to share it with the world,
She had to decide if she was going to accept what others said as her source of self-worth or have her self-worth come from within.
SELF-WORTH
Self-worth is inherent in who we are.
It never changes.
We are eternal beings and our divine worth is constant.
“The worth of souls is great in the sight of God.” (Doctrine and Covenants 18:10)
What about you?
Have you decided the source of your self-worth?
I invite you to make your choice today, and recognize and honor your inherent and eternal self-worth
Much love,
