I have found value in studying and learning self-help principles.
What I’ve learned has assisted me in overcoming mental and emotional challenges over the years.
BUT…
I’ve seen those same principles carried too far, where the focus becomes one of self-centeredness, and… I’ll say it, selfishness.
The motto today seems to be one of “it’s all about me.”
So what is the definition of true self-care?
How does self-care fit into my Christian beliefs of service and sacrifice?
As a woman of faith, I believe that happiness is found in serving others and that sacrifice of self leads to greater joy and even self-awareness.
How do I know then, if my self-care measures are spilling over into self-centeredness?
I don’t have all the answers…yet.
This is a topic I’m pondering and studying, and I would love to hear your insights.
In the meantime, I’d like to share this short video that might help us both gain a greater understanding.
Much love,
