Small but meaningful moments of beauty can replenish our soul and strengthen our spirit.
A SMALL MEANINGFUL MOMENT
The simple act of replacing last year’s calendar has become a meaningful moment of beauty for me.
I used to settle for the freebie calendars given away at hardware stores or financial institutions.
There is nothing wrong with those, and I was grateful not to spend money on purchasing a calendar every year, but a certain experience changed my view.
I had created a beautiful office space with periwinkle walls, white furniture, silver accents, even a white, fluffy carpet.
The space was light-filled, and uplifting!
I had put a lot of thought into every item placed in this room, but as I hung up a nondescript calendar, I felt my energy and the vibration of the room change.
I could have told myself a calendar was no big deal, but that wasn’t true.
So, I splurged on a calendar that matched my room.
That calendar uplifted, and strengthened my spirit on a daily basis.
Something seemingly so insignificant as a calendar ended up becoming a source of beauty and inspiration.
Who knew that something so minor could be so supportive of my emotional needs!
FEEDING THE SOUL
Beauty is a necessary part of our lives for it feeds our soul and strengthens our spirit, but too often it is placed last on our list of priorities.
John Muir said, “Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.”
Are there areas in your life where a change in something small might bring you great joy?
Something as simple as:
-a handful of flowers divided between kitchen and bathroom to enjoy throughout the day.
-changing the colors of the pillows on your couch.
-replacing a wilted, dying plant with one that is alive and vibrant.
-hanging a strand of white lights around your bedroom walls.
There are countless ways of adding beauty to your life in small, but meaningful ways.
Something as simple as buying a beautiful calendar taught me that lesson.
I’d love to hear the ways you are adding small but meaningful changes that add beauty and strengthen your spirit.
Much love,
