Do you know someone who is ALWAYS happy, or at least they seem to be always happy?
You wonder how it’s possible.
Did they learn how to be happy?
Or, is it part of their nature? Were they born with that gift?
Maybe they just don’t live in reality.
Part of you wishes you could be that way too, and you may ask yourself, what do they know that I don’t?
I have often been thought of as being that happy person, seemingly happy all the time.
Though I would like to be that person, and I may have some natural ability to see the good in things, people, and situations, a constant state of happiness is not my day-to-day reality.
In fact, being happy is actually a daily wrestle for me!
I continually work to develop happiness.
Some years ago I went through a challenging time when I could not feel any happiness or joy. I struggled to take care of even the basic needs of my family.
But because of that experience, I learned some valuable lessons.
I discovered:
-that by changing our thoughts, we change not only how we feel, but what we experience.
-that emotions are a direct result of what we are thinking.
-that I have the power every morning to decide what kind of day I’m going to have.
I also learned that it takes time, patience and self-compassion to regain the ability to feel happiness when it’s been lost.
If you are someone in the midst of that struggle today, my heart goes out to you.
I want you to know there is hope, and happiness is possible!
Much love,
