With all the busyness this time of year, do you find yourself struggling to keep the spirit of Christmas alive?
Here’s a simple solution that can quickly restore your Christmas spirit.
Look for the symbols.
They are all around us.
Sometimes so much so that we tend not to notice them anymore.
Let’s call it “a scavenger hunt for meaning.”
When you are weary from holiday efforts consider turning your thoughts to the symbols of Christmas, and their significance.
The physical objects are all around, but can you recognize what they represent?
Ask yourself, why wreaths, trees, candy canes, and tinsel? Why bows, bells, stars, and the color red?
Do they not all invite us to remember Christ?
As you ponder the significance of the symbols of Christmas notice how your feelingsof tiredness, and overwhelm change to ones of peace, and gratitude.
I encourage you to look for symbols. Ponder their meaning, and allow the spirit of Christmas to refocus your attention to the Savior Jesus Christ, the one whom we honor, and celebrate this special time of year.
I wish you a beautiful, and joyous Christmas!
Much love,
