Much of who I am today was shaped by my father. I often think of him and have long realized that celebrating him on Father’s Day is wonderful, but even more meaningful is honoring him through the way I live my life.
I remember and honor my father by:
- teaching my children the value of hard work,
- attending my children’s activities even after a long day at work,
- taking time to laugh and have fun with my family,
- quietly and faithfully getting things done without seeking recognition,
- showing love and appreciation for my spouse,
- and willingly serving others even when it’s inconvenient.
This list could go on and on. Do any of these activities remind you of your father? Would consciously recognizing his influence in your daily life be a way of honoring him?
I invite you to honor your father this Father’s Day, and every day, by observing his influence in all that you do and who you are.
Much love,
