Are you like me at times, making life harder than it needs to be?
I’ve discovered areas of my life where I do just that.
Let me share a humorous example.
While walking past a financial service center I glanced at a sign that read “Sign up for your digital pineapple.”
What?!
I wondered what a digital pineapple was, and took another look at the sign.
This time I correctly read, “Sign up for your digital account.”
I felt a little sheepish at my mistake, and remembered the glasses buried in the bottom of my purse.
I don’t usually wear my glasses, because I don’t think I really need them.
They are inconvenient, and I don’t like the frames.
Apparently, I need my glasses more than I thought.
If I had used them, I would not have misread the sign.
Help was close by, but I had chosen not to use it.
This amusing moment made me think of other areas of my life where I choose not to take advantage of the help available to me.
There are times I actually make my life harder than it needs to be.
Whether it be from inconvenience, ignorance or pride, are there areas where you make life harder than it needs to be by not using the help available to you?
Do you have a tendency to:
- Feel overwhelmed and easily frustrated?
- Push through challenging situations thinking you have to do it all on your own?
- Hold tight to beliefs that limit you?
- Stay upset longer than a situation warrants?
Though you are not alone, there is much you can do to overcome these hinderances to a smoother life.
Many helps are as simple as figuratively putting on a pair of glasses.
Such as:
– Ask a supportive family member or friend for a listening ear.
- Serve another in the same supportive way you desire.
- Take steps to meet your physical and emotional needs on a daily basis.
- Commit to a daily spiritual foundational practice.
These are just a few ways to strengthen your emotional resiliency.
I invite you to notice, and accept the small helps available to you.
Let’s allow ourselves to be strengthened, and supported along our paths.
Much love,
